Another quickie for ye..........
My Zuboda Courgettes say to plant outside in April but I was wondering if it is a bit early to germinate indoors now and get a good head start.
How long does it take the seeds to germinate and get to plant outside-able size?
I got a present of smallish courgette plants last year and didnt have to contend with all of this planning :P
Also, what would ye say was the best fertiliser regimen for courgettes. I know that they need more potassium when fruiting but it there such thing as "bonus" potassium?
I start mine off in late April, plant out early June. Fertiliser, I just use the odd handful of pelleted chicken manure, and a seaweed based liquid feed when I remember. They usually do very well even if you don't feed them! ;D
They normally germinate quickly :)
Late April/May and just chicken berries like deb said but usually I don't bother
