Hi all,
My hen run is starting to fill up with open holes about 3 inches in diameter. There must be about 4 of them now since I noticed the first about 2 months ago. At this rate whatever it is will have the place wrecked before very long. To add insult to injury it won't be long before whatever this is will work it's way into my edible garden., This is real worry as I don't what this is and/or if it is dangerous ( Droppings,Urine etc). I've done some research on moles but there are no 'Mole hills' as such, just holes and a few areas where it appears to be trying to 'scratch' its way out of the run. It can leave if it wants as the gate to the run is open most of the time. It doesn't appear to have any interset in the hens either. Can anyone help us with this? na d if so how can I encourage it to move on ( that's being polite BTW).
Thanks for reading.
Anthony
Could it be rats? The holes going under my compost bins are about 3inch diameter.
drop a broken clove of garlic into the holes if it gets pushed out its moles.
If not check in a week and if its gone its rats.
Most likely rats. Once a mole finds a territory and makes its tunnels it doesn't come out much.
Thanks all, I think you may be right. Now I need to get rid of them!!!
