Title: What can I sow now in a cold greenhouse please
Post by: caseylee on March 23, 2008, 14:48:47
I am looking for things I can start sowing now in my cold greenhouse.  I have winter lettuce, rashish, onions, garlic, parsnips, early carrots already started but I would like to start some more, any ideas would be great

I sowed my sprouts, red cabbage, leeks, celeriac and celery today.  That's a fair bit of Christmas dinner taken care of!  I put some spinach in modules, as well, so they can go out if it ever stops snowing!

Mind you, I'll germinate them in the house.

You could sow some peas in buckets and have some to taste few weeks earlier than you would from outdoors...or beans..but go for the french bush type.. runner beans would take over the whole green house.
You could get some early strawberries if you get some plants in now.
Herbs do well in cold greenhouse..things like coriander do not run to seed quite so quickly if they are in cooler temp.
