I Know it's a bit cold but need to make some space on my window sills, will it be safe to put my tomatoes, Peppers and chilli plants in the greenhouse, I have re-potted them and put them in a flat cardboard box and covered them with bubble wrap, not sure if its safe to put them in the greenhouse yet. Help ???
You don't say where you are but unless your greenhouse is heated I'd say it's still too cold.
I have the same problem with lack of window sill space but I cracked this a couple of years ago by errecting a simple free-standing shelf.

I'm West Yorkshire and we have had snow today and been very cold, will keep the plants inside till another day

I had thoughts about a shelf Georgie. It looks much better than I had imagined.........orf to have a quiet word in someones shell like 8)
I've bought some brackets to put up a shelf in the greenhouse!

Gordon built two such shelves for me three years ago 8). They are stored in the shed when not in use. A real boon when I'm at my wit's end for window sill space!

I'm in West Yorkshire too and my toms, peppers, cabbages, leeks, lettuce, cauli's, peas, beans etc etc are all outside in a cold greenhouse. Its insulated with bubble wrap and I have some fleece handy if a frost is forecast but I was on holiday over Easter (when it snowed) and everything seems to have survied alright. ;D
I do have some still at home only just sown, but these were just getting too large and lancky on the window sill so Ive decided to treat them mean.
Looking back to 2007 I did plant 3 plants OUTSIDE on the 20th April... and they survived - till the blight got them!!! >:(

Better clarify that for you Tim
The tomatoes & pepper shown in the above pictures were first grown as plug plants i.e. one per cell then they are potted up into 3" pots once I see the first signs of true leave.
As you can see with the brassicas these seeds are laid out individually into the tray as opposed to cells and grow on then pricked out into 3" pots.
This is a picture of tomato seedlings prior to potting up.
nb; the Moneymaker all came eventually they were seed that I have had fror three or four years at least, the ones that germinated earlier were relatively new seed.
