Title: This guest in the lottie shed was reluctant to leave
Post by: ina on July 17, 2004, 22:44:31
This bird sat on te shelf in the shed for most of the afternoon but when it was time to go home, it had to be physically removed. Mr. C. was going to gently guide it to the door and it jumped on his hand instead, stayed there and even outside it sat there for another minute orso before flying off. We just couldn't believe it. Later we saw it being fed by another bird so it must have been a very young one.
Does anybody know what bird it is?

Ina he's really sweet! That reminds me of what happened the other week. It started raining (again!) and I ran outside to close the door of my daughters wendy house. A little later I noticed two blackbirds frantically flying around the door and window of the wendy house. Discovered that the baby blackbird had taken refuge inside and then got trapped when I closed the door. After I had opened the door he still wasn't very enthusiastic about coming out despite his parents frantic calls and tempts with worms outside.

Looks like a little itty bitty sparrow, or maybe a wren.  How cute!
