Title: growing eddoes
Post by: sunny sunflower on March 20, 2008, 17:04:43
Hi

I have just bought some eddoes from the supermarket and was wondering whether it's possible to grow them on my allotment in the south east?

Has anyone had any success?

Thanks

I've grown them in pots but more for the foliage than the tubers. It can be done I reckon, but some heat and protection will be needed early in the season and protection again in the autumn.

They like moist soil and heat, they are the side tubers from the taro plant.maybe if you google Taro you might get some info
