You actually want Tansy! :o
I'm sure I can sort you out a root or two. PM me your address and I'll send some when it starts to grow (i.e when I can see it!)

i pulled mine all up in a fit of pique last season when it got too rampant. but it wouldnt surprise me if some comes up somewhere andif it does i will let you know and gladly let you have some. ;D
..I see that you've already been offered rue by Georgie? I was going to don rubber gloves and make you a cutting....It's such a pretty leaf (don't like the flowers much tho) but boy! does it pong ::)
Stinks doesn't it !! ;D Apparantly it's the contact in the sun that does the damage! ???
I think its pongs too. Have you bruised the leaves and had a sniff FL.?
Its a gorgeous plant :D
:o what ?? now please do you really want me to keel over !!! ;D
Of course not ;), just make sure you sit down before you niff it :D
I dont think it smells as it stands, just when its bruised
rue.....?? Isn't it one of the herbalists' plants? I've not got my book any more, but doesn't an infusion of the leaves, allegedly, bring on a miscarriage? Anyone know?
It's a very pretty plant, tho, and I love those grey-ish leaves - just don't like the tiny yellow flowers :(

I totally misread your post FL, I hope I didn't come across as patronising.
Sorry :-[ :-*
Rue does cause abortion, it's also a stimulant and diuretic, used to be used in holy water, and used to be used for worms.
Have you got worms flo? ;D :D

I love this plant but I'm in two minds about the flowers. Some years they seem to blend in well with the other plants around and others they look dreadful and I simply cut them off. But a word of warning to others who might be thinking of growing Rue. Handling the plant can cause allergic reactions or phytol-photodermatitis. Jekka McVicar says that you should not take cuttings of the plants either when they are wet or they are in full sun.
