signed, providing the olymics take place i think its going to be a blood bath.

Anyone with an axe to grind against the chinese government (not the people there lovly) will target the olymics. And if it does take place then the polution will crippe and seriously damage the health of the people taking part.

Do the government take any notice of these e-petitions, as they are just on trial at the moment.

Why not boycott Chinese goods, that would have a greater effect.

There is so much money being made from China's cheap goods/labour for the government to
call an official boycott, as that would make them unpopular with businesses.

We can't have that now can we?

i think the problem is that china has been stockpiling US Dollars in fact they own more then the US government. China could dump these on the money market and cause another depression in the states.

So people need to keep them happy.

Ignoring the fact that there people are slaves and they have stripmined the country. There rivers are poluted and they are now absorbing resources from the rest of the world.

I think the problem with boycotting their goods is that they seem to be making just about everything we buy. Are there any british manufacturers left?

I've signed the petition about China. But I won't sign the petition about poly tunnels.

Anyone who has been to the south of Spain in the last years will know why. Hundreds of square miles covered in plastic, all poly tunnels filled with heating tubes, pesticides and artificial fertilisers. Underneath the earth is ruined, all insect life eliminated. Unwanted, unused, torn plastic all over the place, half buried in the ground. Hundreds of trucks taking tomatoes, cucmbers, lettuces, strawberries and all the rest of the out-of-season produce to markets all over Europe. Water sources ruined, natural landscapes and fauna destroyed and poisoned - no thanks.

Don't even give the little finger I say.
