Went in to town today to get my prescription and we have a pound shop opening within the next few days. Delighted, I was going to Wisbech next week (10miles away) to visit the pound shop there.I keep reading on A4A bout all the bargains you can get.
watch it, Lorna..you can still go bankrupt even at the pound shop ;D
You certainly can, I dragged my daughter into a 99p shop a few xmas's ago so we could buy stocking fillers for the kids. It came to £50 odd quid! JUST FOR THE FILLERS! >:( >:(
We hit on a brilliant idea, the following year she got smaller stockings! ::) ::)
Which particular pound shop? or is it just called the Pound shop?
Guess I had better put just so much in my purse. ;D
Kea the shop front says "The Real Pound Shop_ I looked in and they are getting stocked up. I did see a sign in the shop saying "Everything £1" so hopefully I will get things I want.
wow wheres that opening?
Cambourne, Not sure of exact date they are opening but the shop is in Broad Street (main shopping street in March) it is in the Lloyds Chemist old shop who have transferred to one of our local Doctor's surgery building.
Might have a ride up today, that's if I can get parked!!!
I know you are all very canny, but just watch out. Somethings they sell at a pound do not cost that in the supermarkets etc. Because everything is a pound or less, one assumes one is getting a bargain. I have a mate who was caught out. 99% of things are cheaper, but once in a while it doesn't work that way.
Hi EJ. Yes a family member ( a very careful spending daughter!!!) mentioned this. In fact I am going to look for an item that Mary (Rosebud) told me about. Can't beat recommendations, will keep my purse tightly closed unless I KNOW it is a bargain :)
Tanks for the tip.
