My front garden is nearly all soil and keeping on top of the weeding and general maintenance is a struggle. I am considering laying a central strip of the garden with turf to create two narrower borders rather than one great big one!
My question is this - does anyone know if the turf will be sufficient to kill off any weeds that might be left underneath it or will I have problems later in the year with weeds poking through? (obviously I will do my best to remove as many as I can beforehand but I won't be able to get all of them!)
Annual weeds shouldn't be a problem. But perennial weeds will be, remove dandelions, docks, nettles, brambles and one of the worst IMO the creeping thistle (ouch) ;)
I'm with Star on this one!
