Only just realised that taking a Photobucket photo URL back to its root, you open the whole of your life to view. Oh, horrors!!
Is there any way in which one can send a photo without baring ones soul?
You could pay A4A a tenner a year, Tim and post as many pic's as you wanted direct from your hard-drive. No middle-man.
Ken.
don't you have to use passwords Tim - doesn't seem right to me
Ken - I've been 'paid up' here as long as most but, to post on another forum, I have to do a 'bucket thing' & give a URL link to my photo.
Never realised, until today, that you can take that URL back to its root & view the whole album.
Calendula - yes - I have one to access the site but, apparently, anyone can misuse the URL?
in photobucket you can actually set the settings to public view or private view.
I have done this and have several folders.
stuff i share on the internet is in a public folder.
And my personal photos are in a safe one.
Just update the photobucket privacy settings, it is all explained in the help section too :)
I think you need to set your account to 'private' - this way the photo can be viewed but not the whole library :)
Looking!!
Looked. Account is PRIVATE.
"This album is private
Show 40 thumbnails per page
My background color is White
Sort my album by Alphabetical order"
But truncating a link still gives access to the whole album.
What next? Or I'll be posting no more photos!
you could try posting on the photobucket forum and ask one of the resident advisers about this as there seems to be a glitch somewhere

Could it be that you are logged into photobucket as you, so therefore you can see the root? I've just marked my album as 'Private', and if I log out, or access the album from another PC, I get a big warning message saying "This album is private. Please login".
I think you should be right!
Tim
Oh, I'll look into that. But a chap on a Food program truncated my URL & viewed my album - despite the 'private' thing. Don't want that!!
If you 'don't' mind, PM the URL and I'll see what the score is for you.
