hi every one, hubby would like to have hanging baskets, big huge trailing bright things,
a couple of questions
is it to late for me to grow the plants for him?
what should i grow?
the best place to get the seeds?
thank you in advance
If you've got a B&Q near you, they were doing small pots of hanging basket plants 75p each - 10 for £6.00.
They were mainly surfinia and million bells petunias, verbena, bacopa, fuchsias, and quite a few other things.
We bought ours a couple of weeks ago, and have taken quite a few cuttings from them.
Otherwise your local garden centre should be selling small plants.

I'd buy small plants... for a quicker result... and you can propagate from side shoots to keep down the costs.. from seed you end up with far too many bits..
Remember some swell gel or other moisture retaining method..

No! Apart from Lobelia, Marigolds & Petunias which I sowed last Tuesday, I have sown very little of the things I put in my baskets.

I think it more a case of what would you like to grow and take it from there.

Again this depends upon what you want to grow but more or less any source will do.
Many annual seeds are sourced from a few seeds merchants and packeted in different livery so I tend to go for economy unless there is something special I want.
