Title: rasperry/gooseberry/blackcurrant/red currant
Post by: airy.fairy on March 03, 2008, 15:31:25
i have 6 plants that need planting into the ground or into pots.....i have a rasperry, green gooseberry, red gooseberry, 2 red currants and a blackcurrent....

my intention is to plant them into plant pots with a view to putting them into a wooden planter or similar....do i need to keep them inside for a while ? (i havent got a greenhouse - although one of the cheap plastic ones is on my list ;)  but was gonna put them on a windowsill ) if i plant them in the ground where is the best place to plant ? will they come back year after year ? do they need a trellis ?

this is my first year planting anything other than my summer pots  :o so any help is much appreciated :)

What are the gooseberry varieties ?  If they are susceptible to mildew - this might help.
