my aubergines have come up but are very lanky at the moment, is this normal, or should I re sow them. I have planted them into bigger pots and covered most of the stems, but they still look sorry for themselves.
HI 5 ROD HERE
I SEE YOU CANT WAIT TO GET PLANTING
I SOW MY AUBERGINES IN JAN AND ARE
3" HIGH,THEY MUST HAVE HEAT AND LOTS
OF LIGHT I WOULD SAY AT LEST 12-14 HOUR
A DAY,MAYBE MORE .IF YOU PLANT EARLY DAY LIGHT IS NOT SURFISENT.
IF IT WAS ME I WOULD RESTART.LOTS OF TIME
MIND ARE FOR SHOWN THAT W I START EARLY.
IWOULD ASLO GROW IN GLASSHOUSE ALL THE
TIME.HOPE THIS HELPS
I only planted these 3 weeks ago and they get tons of warmth and light, but still are stringy, what would be the best thing for me to do
LEAVE THEM A LITTLE LONGER
DONT PUT THEM OUTSIDE OR IN A COLD FRAME OR COLD GREENHOUSE
So you have artificial light, 5rod?
its still cold here in wiltshire but we have had lots of sunlight so thats where mine get the light from and heat is no prob, im south african and my house is always at 30 degrees lol
If they are getting a lot of light from one side they will grow towrads the light and that can make them get leggy. If they are in a window, try putting some silver foil behind them to reflect the light back.
If they get a bit lanky don't worry, it won't kill them. Does anyone know whether they root from the stems if you plant them deeply?
HI TIM
