Used mine all up last year, they were from Robinsons and were absolutely fab, I must also get hold of some more....

Is this variety really tall. I wanted to experiment with placing tall peas in a small veg box. One at each corner :)

It's easy to save pea seeds, so at least those who have it this year can save for next! That is, of course, assuming that this year isn't such a disaster as last!

The tall ones I do, I got caught out last year by my saved 'purple podded'...they had only grown to 3-4' tall at home in my garden so I did a row of them in one of my raised beds.....they went bonkers and grew to 5-6', I was constantly putting taller and taller pea sticks and ended up with tall canes, should have put them on a wigwam and be done with it! :-[
I think I put two plants per cane, so 16 on average, keep some in reserve in case of disasters....

Some people cover them with nets, because of the birds, on our site, so are they okay not being covered?

Deb what is wrapped around the wigwam. Never built one before, but its the method I thought would work well in a veg box.

I use natural jute string wound around 7 or 8 canes like a spiders web. I find it helps plants with tendrils like peas cling better by themselves, and they look nicer empty! It takes about 15 mins per wigwam to do, and I just compost the string with the pea/bean remains at the end of the season. Here is a clearer pic of a couple more wigwams last year, 'Jack be Little' pumpkins growing on the smaller one, Borlotti beans on the other.
