Title: HOT WATER BOTTLES
Post by: betula on February 28, 2008, 10:51:34
Heard a tip on the radio yesterday.Use hot water bottles against your pots and trays in the cold greenhouse at night. It sounds like a good idea ,never tried it myself :)

Not for me I'm afraid!

Might be OK for a few pots but when you have hundreds of pots like me on the go the water bottles would take up more space than the pots I am growing in  :)

I prefer to start later in the season i.e. get January & February out of the way then heat and light to a certain degree is not a problem as such, as I see it my way is prevention rather than cure!!

Tried and tested by Bob Flowerdew of Radio 4's Gardeners Question Time fame. I think you need quite a few plastic bottles ful of hot water to have enough heat maintaining mass.
