TeeGee that was totally awesome, if you could now do the same for every flower, fruit and veg that may like to grow it would be fab, starting with sweet potatoes.

Brilliant, TG!

When I thought that I might do 'Market Gardening' on retirement, I had much success with cuttings - such reward!

PS Still believe in Rooting Compound.

slide shows are very useful - thanks TeeGee  :)

what does the silver sand do on top of the compost?

What I want to happen is to let the silver sand trickle into the hole formed by pushing the cutting into it.

This ensures that I have a minute amount of sand around and below the cutting which allows it to breathe and drain thus reducing the chances of damping off.

Here are another couple of slide shows;

QuoteAlso answers the question I was going to ask

If you mean by contacting me direct you can't as such, at least not from my website.

When I started up with my website I had an e-mail link but soon dropped it when I started getting mail from all the weirdos in the world.

I think there is enough scope here on these forums for that, plus it also means that others can take part in the debate.

If push comes to shove and you do want to get in touch privately then you can use the personal messages facility at the top of the page.

I hope that answers your question.
