Title: Invasive Plants
Post by: nicofloretti on February 24, 2008, 15:58:07
Hi!

I am trying to find out whether there is any educated or definative list of plants which can be 'invasive'. We are not allowed to plant invasive plants on our allotments but we also don't know how to define 'invasive'.

How do other allotments deal with the invasive question?

Thanks,

nico

I dont really know the answer to that, could you not asked the allotment association what their definition of invasive is.

Because raspberries spread......are they part of their list?

I just think if they made the rules up they should be able to explain themselves to you as well ;)

There are loads listed on: http://www.plantlife.org.uk/uk/plantlife-campaigning-change-invasive-plants.html

A search for "invasive plant species" on http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk will give more specific results.
