just starting our allotment and want to do it as cheaply and as recycled as poss, has any one got any comfey they would be willing to post for the price of postage

Just started with my plot and know that I have some comfrey!!!!  Not sure how to dig it up for you so to speak.  It is just starting to come through, I think there are 2 plants or areas of it, I know for sure there's one.  If someone can advise how to get at it for me I'll send you some. Twirlie :)

comfrey is a very robust plant and can handle a bit of tugging around. To propergate it is best from root cuttings, again you can be quite brutal. If you are wanting to get rid of it...it's quite difficult (not sure why anyone would want to) you really need to make sure every bit of root is out as it will just keep coming back. To divide wait until there are some leaves showing and treat it as you would any other perrenial
