Has anyone tried making self-watering tubs out of two white plastic 5-gal containers that nest within each other, the bottom one a water reservoir, the top one holding soil-less mix?
Just saw one made on you-tube and wondering.... since our son can get loads of those tubs free.
Can you put the you tube link on please, so we know what you mean?
Sorry, I meant to look it up then got side-tracked.

I haven't seen this one before, but if your son can get these buckets I would give them a try.
Do let us know how they work..................sounds very interesting ;)

Too bad they look so plastic-y.
Ah yes.....but you can get rush or willow woven sheets to wrap round them (can you get them in the US?)

Haven't seen that but then I'm not much of a shopper.
You could make some? They are very effective at hiding unsightly plastic pots or tyres in a garden. I hate shopping too, except in natures garden. I find all manner of lovely things when Im walking the dogs. Will add here, I always ask permission before taking anything :D
