I have bought a number of vegetables this year as its my first year with a greenhouse and a alloment. I just want to ask, I have cucumbers, courgettes, aubergines, should these go outside or inside a greenhouse where would they do best. Also I know tomatoes grow inthe greenhouse, but can I out different varieties next to eache other or will they not grow. I also have purchased gherkins can I grow them outside or should they stay with the cucumbers in a greenhouse. And last quetion same as the tomatoes I have 3 different varities of courgettes and cucumbers , can they be grown next to each other.
Thank you
Linda
I don't see why you shouldn't be able to grow different varieties of the veg together successfully, most of us do it ;D
All the veg you mention, I grow outside, but then I'm in the south of England and you may not be. I would say that gherkins would probably be ok anywhere outside from early June, and most tomatoes too.

I tried outdoor tomatoes and cucumbers last year. Both failed miserably. My tomatoes in the greenhouse came in abundance. 3 different varieties next to each other. I had over 8lbs of unripened toms at the end of the season that I made into chutney. Waste not want not & all that.
I grew 3 Zucchini courgette plants outside last year and had no less than 30 courgettes from these.
This year I am going to try Carmen cucumbers in my greenhouse as recommended on this thread:

Last year wasn't normal by any means. You should be OK with early toms and ridge cucumbers outside.
