Title: Purple sprouting broccoli
Post by: caroline7758 on February 10, 2008, 14:37:52
Noticed the first florets showing yesterday (first time I've grown this). Should I be feeding? Also, some of the plants are keeling over but I'm worried they'll snap if I try to put supports in now. Will they grow much taller now? If so I'd better do something soon!

QuoteShould I be feeding?

I wouldn't bother now, the plants have done what they set out to do i.e, produce a flower head.

Next step is the pot !! so feeding now (in my opinion) is a bit of a waste of time.

I agree, and as I am in Huddersfield too, am wondering where your plot is ?
As for them leaning, mine often end up laid horizontal across the ground, but they still produce !

I know where yours are but you are on the wrong road for mine.

I am next to Lockwood cemetery. (Meltham Road)
