Title: Shed Plans
Post by: franklynn on February 05, 2008, 20:32:44
Hi Is there anyone out there with some easy to follow shed plans. Or any advice? Better still a shed they don't want and they live just around the corner from me!

This is how I made mine. It's 6' x 4' which is the biggest they'd let me have but you can apply the same principle to any size I suppose. 'Scuse the rough drawing. I've only shown one end and the back to give you an idea. If this looks promising I can supply lots more details. The 8 x 4'  boards are, I think, called royal boards, but they're the ones they use to board up broken shop windows, made out of compressed shavings by the look of them, and about ½" thick.  The frames are 2" x 2" rough sawn timber. I made it in prefabricated sections for two reasons: easier to assemble alone, and I can take it with me when I go. The floor is the same type of board as the sides, but thicker, about 1". I used a pent roof  - simpler than a ridge, so you'd need to allow for the slope when you cut the ends. The beams under the floor are 6" x 3", bedded and levelled on sand. My door is in one end but you can put it where you want, and it's nothing more than a door-sized piece cut out of one of the boards, then re-fastened back using hinges, with suitable stiffeners. The 'windows' are exactly the same.

Geoff.
