I've found a rhubarb crown on our new plot, it's been covered by a compost bin (with it's lid off) so I guess it's kind of semi-forced as there are two or three leaves already growing on it.
I really don't want to keep the bin on it and I'm not bothered about forcing the rhubarb to be early so my question really is can I remove the compost bin without it doing any harm to the leaves that have already been forced into life or should I leave it there till all the risk of frost has gone?
Also, as it's growing already is it too late to put some manure on it?
Thanks :)

Yes!! You might lose the few leaves that are there but these will replace themselves if it is a healthy crown.

No! but try and not cover any new growth.
Thanks Tee Gee, I'll do that asap then :)
