Does anyone know the name of an old tool which I have seen some people use. It is basically a spade which has a foot pedal at the back of it which tips the soil forward and is very easy and quick to use to turn over previously dug soil?
I'm trying to find one on the internet but don't know what to search for.
Any help?
Do you mean the old wolf terrex spades? They come up on ebay now & then but wolf no longer make them.

I'm distinctly tempted, but I'm going to resist because I hardly use a spade!
according to fred they have stated making wolf terrex spades again.

I've emailed Fred's Shed - I fancy one of the new Autospades. Thanks for the link!
there over £100 thats what puts me off!
ive had a go with a terrex but i really didnt like it at all they are really heavy and quite awkward to use i thought - but maybe its just me!
I have a terrex spade and find it brilliant for large areas of digging, but the soil has to be in good condition with few weeds. I find that I can dig large areas very quickly and couldn't be without it now. There is definitely a knack to using it - it certainly exercises different muscles!
Hi all,
Found this whilst waiting for spring!

I was under the impression that wolf had finally allowed another company to make their spades despite turning down similar requests from numerous other companies who have tried to buy the rights to make them.
They are being sold through http://www.backsavergardentools.co.uk
Many thanks for all your postings. I will keep a look out on ebay for Wolf Terex spades from now on.
Thanks again.
