227 - NAVY BEAN   85 to 100 days - A small, delicious, white bean that can be used in soup or for baking.   Will not "mush up" when cooked.  The 16 to 24 inch bush plants are heavy yielding and very well adapted for the U.S.
A dependable producer of dry beans.

Info is from the Heirloom Seeds Co. in the US of A.

George's, according to HSL catalogue:
Thought to have originated in Poland, this variety produces creamish-white flowers followed by very attractive pods that are green flushed with red when mature. Can be used fresh as a green bean, when they are succulent and strpingless and ideal for salads. Alternatively, the half white and half red, somethimes mottled, dried beans make an attractive addition to soups and stews.
