Title: beetroot seeds

hi all what a nice day its been today (well it has in Lincoln)  ;D ;D well what i wanted to know is......... i planted some beetroot seeds on Tuesday and they have started to sprout all ready and the tomato seeds i planted on Monday haven't why is this they have been in the same place I'm a bit confused  ??? ??? is it just because one gets planted deeper than the other its probably a simple answer or a silly question or maybe both but thanks in advance  ;) ;)

Different plants have different germination rates and different minimum temperatures at which they will germinate.

Beetroot will germinate at a lower temperature that tomatoes, but I am unsure how long it takes for them to germinate under optimal conditions.

Indoors or out?

If the Beet was at the correct 1/2" depth, I'm surprised that it's showing already.

Toms can take 10 days or more at 70-80F.
