I am being haunted by a pop-up "FINDSTUFF". I have my pop-up blocker on but this one sneaks through. I am in the middle of typing in something and this comes up. How does it do it and can it be stopped?

One possibility:

Go to Control Panel - > add / remove programs

Check to see if a program called GameVance has been installed. If so, delete it.

Also try right clicking on it, then have a look at the optio, 'Propertys'. That might give the name of the loaded prog.

I think i would first have a look at my Anti Spyware/ Adware/ Firewalls ensure it is up and running.
If you cant find the source download and and update Ccleaner then run it. If this does not clear it go to tools in Ccleaner see if it is on the listed programes and uninstall or block it

That sounds like an unpatched win2k exploit.

FINDSTUFF is pop up from www.findstuff.com a number of people got it 2or 3 days ago
If you have Anti Spyware/Ad ware updating them and running them should clear it. Altho i am of the opinion if you have the above including Firewalls it should not have got in.
Computer Restore System is a non go for me as there is always other options
Out of curiosity what of the above have you got.
