Yes it was also mentioned in the Allotment Regeneration news. Hopefully it is a way of finding some funds! Doubtless it will be a case of jumping through many hoops to qualify.

What kind of hoops do you have jump through ?

How big were the grants?

And what did you do with them ?

first one, 4,600..not many hoops, just explain what you're going to do with it, ours was for a communal hut, £3,000 , 2 sheds the club had destroyed plus tools for the school that was coming on to the plots
second one, about 4,000..again, not too much hoop jumping, they do like to know how many people will gain from your grant, the fencing around the plots took up most of this, again the club were supposed to do half of it so we had to buy the 2 other sheds out of plant sale money
the third one 4,700..we're still in the process of spending this one, we have to extend the plots to try to get back some of the land the club took off us, and fence around it, and get a 42x14 communal poly and put paths around it suitable for the less able..also raised bed area..we're on target for this
sooo, we're having another plant sale this year and if it's like last year, we'll make lots of money to keep developing the site  ;D

Thanks for that link manics. Our AGM is next week, so that's when the new committee take over. (If we get elected, of course, but no other idiots put themselves forward yet!) We've already put in a new machine store & a main gate from our own coffers, and done a deal which will get us a car park with its own gate, but we're rather desparate for fencing and we have a 200-year-old hedge which we hope to get professionally laid.

Will keep a close eye. (And try to get our form off before any of the rest of you!!!)
