Unless you're a stem-eater, many lovely looking caulis are disappointing.

Apart from the proportion of stem, I like to grow heads with well defined florets so that they break off individually. I don't like slicing a cauli.

I like to do the same but I'm sure that stem will not be wasted  :)

Is it the result of too much feeding as it doesn't always happen - variety will come into it as well

oooh yes, dipped in something like mayo or vegetable puree or sauce
