Title: Fertiliser??!!
Post by: Wicker on July 08, 2004, 22:34:36
Certainly organic but don't think I'll try this tho - too tempting for the foxes and cats to dig up...

QuoteAnd here is a very nice tip for getting fertiliser for your plants. Get fish heads from your fish seller and bury them near roses or other plants that you love. Fish heads decompose fast and give your soil both nitrogen and phosphorus. Bury them deeply so that a dog won’t dig them out. The Indians buried an entire fish for every stalk of corn they planted!

You'd have to bury them very deep for my dog not to get them-like about 6 foot down. I used bone meal one year-never ever again-not only my dog but every fox for miles arround franticly digging!

Aren't dos lovely!  I bought some new topsoil that had horse muck in it.  My three dogs plus my son's two were in their element fishing out the choicest turds to eat!
