Title: really thick spud question

ok i am getting my seed spuds very soon and people say put them rose end down how do i know which end is which, told you it was a thick question

As I understand it, the rose end is the end with the most "eyes". Some kind soul will probably post a pic soon!

I beg to differ the 'rose end' is where the eyes are so this wants to point upwards.

If you can't see the 'eyes' as sometimes can happen you might be able to see where the tuber was connected to the plant. If so this is the bottom the 'rose end' is the other end'

Does that make sense?

I wouldn't worry I just put mine in an egg box tray (that hold 30 eggs) and let them chit. Your see the chits (think thats right) coming out you can turn them round.

it's either really easy to see which end has most eyes (and as TeeGee says that end goes up the way) or it's wellnigh impossible so just stick them in a tray either way. As Rosyred says - you'll soon see where the growth is and can adjust accordingly.
