I started clearing out my greenhouse yesterday and noticed that many of the dead plants, mainly Cape Gooseberry, aubs and chillies, have what looks like a fine fungal mould on them which seemed to go everywhere when I pulled them up.
I am going to give the greenhouse a thorough clean but will this mould/fungus affect future plants? I cannot use Jeyes Fluid as I have soil surrounding the central path. I thought I would use a pressure washer hose but will this just wash any spores into the earth?
Your help in this matter is much appreciated.
i was lead to believe that jeye's fluid was also used as a soil steriliser so i would have thought that its use in the greenhouse would be ok even if splashes went on the soil it wouldn't matter and be carefull with pressure washer as if its to powerfull it will break brittle glass no problem.

Thanks Alan for your reply. I am not too keen about using Jeyes Fluid as I grow early carrots and spinach in the soil.
I`m probably the most cavalier person imaginable when it comes to hygeine-a quick brush and sometimes a wash with warm soapy water. Spiders are my friends so no need to kill them.
Washing the outside is another matter-I`ll soon have to get out my long pole ;D
we use warm water, a drop of washing up liquid and some vinegar, melts the green stuff off, don't know if it would sterilise it though :)
We do it when empty - & we grow in bags. Armillatox spray followed by Sulphuir smoke in the Spring.
I use a sulphur, smoke candle, excellent & it dosent interfere with the soil.
Takes 12hrs before you can go in BUT take ALL your plants out it will kill them.
Each to their own ,but I prefer to keep some beneficial beasties alive

I am tempted to use Armillatox that Tim recommended but at £12.99 a bottle it is very expensive. I assume that it is used diluted but I don't know what the ratio is, so I don't know if it is value for money.
I don't think I will use a sulphur candle as all the plants died off with the first frost. If I have any green or white fly still lurking in there I will have to hope that they go onto the yellow sticky traps that I will be putting up.
For cleaning greenhouses Armillatox is used diluted at 100:1 so using a sprayer it goes quite a long way.

I admire the Stephans of this world - I don't have the same confidence.
But, as if to argue against myself, our first influx of Aphid on the Peppers last year was smartly dealt with by predators. So where did they come from??
