i dont want to throw a spanner in the works but on the page where you give your details you have to choose a postage option , seeds are 95p but potatoes and fruit are Â£2.95 . Or have i got it wrong (again)

They are called loss leaders and supermarkets do it all the time. If you are like me, you feel guilty just ordering the potatoes and order some seed too. I order Danvers Half Long Carrots and some spring onion seed with mine.

I think this is cheap as its a new variatly they did the same with yukon gold one year selling very cheap the following year the price was twice what a normal spud was :(

Spuds on sale at our plot shop this coming weekend - Â£1.90 for 3 kg
20 varieties plus broadies, onion & shallot sets etc - in the past the queue has been halfway down the street !
Aswell as saving my wallet, we're helping our allotment association keep afloat financialy :D

Hardly a scam. Most seed companies send the letter out before the bulk orders.

I too received a catalogue today, and a letter thanking me for my order, but I think the letter (and catalogue) are sent out to anyone who has previously placed an order, ... any order.

I'm not a bit worried - I ordered, they took the money, I received an advice note - no where has it mentioned any conditions, ie 6Kg of seed pots.

On the advise note it does state dispatch as 24/01/2008. Still waiting.

Finally got my potatoes a month after they debited my account!

Got 10, all seem to be ok too. Just the paperwork inside the envelope really soggy!! Seem to have started to chit too, so good from that point of view too.

Could I just add a very big thank you to DT Browns for what has been a fantastic offer and with almost everybody (I hope) now satisfied. I would like to add that this is the company (along with Seeds of Distinction) that my Dad uses most and he swears by the quality of their seeds. I don't use them so much because I tend to buy from GC's etc but I did add a seed order to my potato order cos I personally thought it diplomatic to do so.
