Title: FAO Flowerlady
Post by: elsie on January 17, 2008, 12:15:15
Hi, I've just been browsing through old topics, and came across this http://www.allotments4all.co.uk/smf/index.php/topic,11873.0.html
Can I ask if the trial went ahead? It sounds like a great idea.
Does anyone else use this method?

Hi Elsie,

Regrettably no one was ever that interested in doing any kind of a trial.  :(   Premtal and I both used skins in trenches for beans, tomatoes and even for potatoes ... one for each hole!

We knew they were of benefit so it seemed pointless to do a trial between the two of us!!  It would just have been interesting to see if others agreed with us, and what other veg performed well!

When you look at the nutritional value of a skin, it is hardly surprising that it will benefit a plant as it grows.  I have a breakdown which I will find if it is of interest.  Nitrogen and Carotene are the two main predominates.  If they find they way into our bodies through the veg we grow and eat, then I find that exciting!  :)

I would always be happy to take part in a trial if we could muster enough interest !  :-\

I am happy to take part in a trial too, but like you say, will need more than two of us...anyone?
