Title: Connecting external speakers to a laptop
Post by: euronerd on January 16, 2008, 02:06:02
I am temporarily using a laptop whilst I sort a problem on my main computer. Does anybody  know if I can safely plug my external speakers from the main computer into the headphone socket on the laptop. There is no useful  information on the back of the speakers, which have their own power supply, apart from the current consumption, which is 1200mA. The laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1300. Thanks in advance.

I suppose what I really meant to ask was, can I do this without damage, given that 3.5mm jacks are used on both  ;D
