Title: Red onions bolting.
Post by: Froglegs on January 15, 2008, 21:32:30
This year I'm going to try a onion set  called Red Karmen in the hope that they will not bolt like Red Baron as done for the past two years.Anybody tried them before?

Not tried them, but i had the same problem with Red Baron, but unlike you I just bought 100 sets.

Tell me how you get on.

My Red Baron didn't bolt but I put them out quite late - on 9th April  - on the grounds that it's warmer here in London.

On the other hand they didn't get particularly large.

Good suggestion - my red baron bolted, and didn't get very big...
