Hi Folks,
a few days ago I was asked by an A4A member "do you have some rules for Pass the Parcel" ?
I was sure I had read some Rules / Guidance notes early last year (or maybe in 2006 ?) so I said yes ... I know where to find some.
Big mistake, now I cannot find any trace :-[ ::)
Can anyone help by guiding me to the location of some 'simple' rules which I will then pass on.
thanks
Mikey
Hi Mikey, is this what you're looking for?

Hi there Elsie,
many thanks for the link ....... don't know how I missed it with all the searches I did over last couple of days.
Have passed it on to the A4A member who asked me could I help .... this has taught me a late in life lesson 'engage brain before opening mouth' ;D ;D
your time and trouble appreciated
Cheers
Mikey
That's fine, I remembered it as one of the first posts I read, so knew roughly where to find it, glad to be of help. :D
Mikey, bear in mind this is only one type of swap, there are many more, whoever is the organiser or host is entitled to decide how they will run their own swap, the one quoted in the link is actually a type of Round Robin pot luck swap, there are no definitive rules generally, at least I none I am aware of.
Mine have been pot luck Round Robins for flowers and/or veggies etc, nor have they been limited to saved seeds or commercial seeds. In the autumn I posted I would another do one in the Spring the same as I did the others which is why mine is running the same, however if I decided I needed to make a different rule for whatever reason, I would then post that prior to accepting participants so that folks would have the chance to consider before they joined in.
I did intend running a squash , bean or tomato one which I have been asked for several times, and it would have had to be a bit more structured but am having to hold off on that one for now.
I would not want newbies to think there was only one way to run one.

fair comments and useful, thanks
Am sure anyone interested would have been following this thread so I am 'fading gracefully into the background' (not sure gracefully is the best word but it sends out the right kind of image ;D)

Jeannine I keep missing out on these swaps/pass the parcel thingies and they sound great fun! Have read the link above but still can't wrap my mind around "how many pkts" go in the parcel to start and are they always unusual varieties or just surplus to requirement seeds? I hope I am quick enough to get in on your next one 8)
This is what Natasha's PTP looked like when it arrived on my doorstep - and I was 5th or so on the list:

...ah, I've just had the seed wap from Natasha and was amazed at how many seeds were in it, who made the fab triangular homemade seed packets I wonder?? :)
Oh, that was me and my daughter ( we were first on the list) - I got the idea from someone in France, I can't take all the credit! It was the only way I could think of to put a small selection of seeds in and hope that they would stay in their envelope! ;D
If anyone wants to know how to make them, I'll post it on here.
Yes please! ;D
I thought that Lindsays envelopes were fab, in fact I copied them for my seeds. So a belated thanks to you Lindsay, they were so easy to make. :)

Yes please, I thought they were great and I'd love to be able to copy them. :)
I've put a separate topic on - but here it is again!
Cut a large square out of a piece of paper - and fold in half to make a triangle shape.
Place triangle with right-angle at top, the fold at the bottom, on table in front of you. Take right hand corner and fold across to left hand side so that it meets the left edge just over half way up.
Take left hand corner and fold over to the right hand side so the point meets where the right flap has folded from.
Fold the top part down, and tuck into the left hand flap, this will hold the envelope closed.
Hope this makes sense! ;D
thank you lindsay! :)
I knew I was missing out but the pics of Natasha's PTP look FAB, now if I could only get my hands on them there seeds ;D ;D
