Am sorry to hear you have been hit by this as it sounds absolutely awful (though perhaps a fast way to lose the extra pounds picked up over Christmas...).
Hope you are feeling better soon (or in two weeks as the case may be).
Oh Nooooooo
So THAT'S why I still feel grotty. At least I'm not vomiting (yet). I have to keep cancelling things as I expected to feel better by now.
It seems to keep on coming and going. :-\
Hope you're soon feeling better Cam.
Yes, its seems to have covered the whole country. To get over a proper flu' does take about 4 weeks or more. Nasty viruses out there. Hope everyone feels a bit better soon.
:-X
Must be the one that I got. I thought it was a bad cold, OH called it 'man flu'. But I struggled back to work this morning and pruned all the roses, so I have used the old way of curing ailments by blood letting, Spiteful buggers some of those ramblers.
;D We have been there, had it, and you have our sympathy and hope you get well soon.
thanks guys :)
Managed to walk to the pharmacist today pick up more decongestant, expectorant and the antibiotics :)
I started on the 6th December and although I'm more or less better I'm still coughing and still snuffly. Nothing a nice wee malt can't sort out mind you! ;) ;)
I think it's the worst bug I've had for years and it just goes on and on. You think you're better and it starts up again. So take it easy Louise and pamper yourself a bit.
Anne
It'll take longer than four weeks for you to feel 100 percent again. In the meantime don't do anything you don't need to do, get the OH to spoil you, put your feet up and dream of summer.
:) :) :)
No 'ick' but everything else.
Endless cough + its green associate
Shaky, unbalanced, weak at the knees if I go as far the drinks cupboard, little appetite!!
Started 10 days ago. Lost voice for 2 days, until I found one Dalek-like chord that I could communicate on. No change.

good advice :) OH has recovered after 10 days and gone back to work lucky bugger!
If i could get a good nights sleep and keep some food down i am sure i would feel better :)
Yes - SLEEP. If only!!
Sorry to hear you've been so poorly Cambourne7 (and Tim) There certainly does seem to be a lot going around at the moment. I had a BAD cold (some may say manflu!) before Christmas which knocked me out for about 3 days and then it came back last week for another few days. Maybe it's a mild form of Birdflu?? ::)
Alarm message the bug has landed at the other side of the pond,a lot of people here are sick or on there way to be sick.I am already two weeks not so well but i am not sick just something in between.

No, she took precautions, just in case and threw out all the custard powder.
Thanks for all the kind words :)
Yes its getting everywhere, friend of mine in Denmark has had it and so has my cousin in Canada. I have managed to keep some food down tonight which was a massave boost. I even got a couple of hours sleep :)
I am however up now feeling like i have have a full nights sleep, so got up to leave hubbie to a good nights sleep. I can always go back to bed later when i feel like i can sleep.
(Dont panic i am not going to do anything other than make a cup of tea and listen to the radio)
We have both had it since 22nd Dec :( still coughing and yesterday i felt soooo bad i slept most of the day :(
Been to the gym this morning even though i didnt feel like it.
Its a nasty bug and i had all on the list :-\
Hope all that are fighting it win the battle soon (((((((hugs))))))))

You must be pounding the machines to lose that amount !! Dont over do it :)
Hi People!
I had something akin to what you had over Christmas. Still weakish - but on my own so have to keep going!
To get a good nights sleep though! Old wives remedies - you can't beat a hot cup of water with fresh lemon juice and a spoonful of honey together with a paracetemol. If you keep some of the liquid for overnight if you get a coughing fit this should help and prop yourself up on pillows so that you are half sitting- this will keep your lungs clearer of yuk and hopefully you will have a restful night!
Good luck to all that are feeling lousy! At least it is not a busy time in the garden!
Old Bird
;D :o
I joined the ranks 8th Dec :'(.....thought I'd recovered enough to rally for the Christmas Eve Karaoke...carols on The Green at 6.00pm followed by a similar session in the pub.....flu-thingy back on Christmas night, missed the New Year's Eve Thrash with my friends :( & I'm just back on my feet now, tho I've still gottan ackin corf. With both puters knocked out also over this time I've had some long, long nights. It's really not been fun.
But I'm getting better now, puters ditto, and went into the garden this morning & bulbs are showing through 8)
Hi Guys,
After a couple of good days i have only thrown up once in the last 3 days which is a good thing :)
Unfortunatly hubbies got worse and hes just taken himself out to A&E as hes in so much pain in his ear so where my virus has afected my chest and lots of coughing his has gone into his ear. Silly idiot will probably come back get into his suit and go to work!
Hope your all feeling better out there!
Cambourne7
Yes thanks Louise, glad to hear you are on the mend-sorry to hear about Hubby.
It;s a funny old bug, you think you feel better then it comes back again, so take it easy gal, everything will wait. ;)
Something I have noticed is that the older you get the speed of recovery take one heck of time, be it from any type of flu

Woke up this morning at 6am and tried to get back to sleep decided to get up as i felt ok. I headed off to town and did some jobs that i had been putting off like go to the bank and pay bills etc. Also hit the sales what a disapointment!! I spent the grand total of 10.50 on a pair of boots (£7.50) and a top(£3) :(
Home now and if i had not stupidly stripped the bed and duvet before i left i would be crawling back into bed :(
