Title: Hello again & anybody been to whitby?
Post by: kitten on January 06, 2008, 18:29:07
Hi all, just wanted to say hello again as i've been away from the forum for a few months and have just come back - i'd forgotten how friendly and brilliant this forum is!  ;)

Anyway, i thought i'd ask if anybody knows of a good company to book a holiday cottage in whitby through?  Need to find one that sleeps 6 adults, including a granma who isn't all that mobile!

Thanks in advance x

Try here:

I live 20 miles from Whitby. It is a nightmare for parking at anytime and not too good for driving round due to the narrow streets. Great place all the same though. Spoilt for choice for accommodation. Hotels, B&B, Caravan Parks, something for everyone.

hello Kitten, I'm from Whitby so never needed to find accommodation as I go home to my folks when I visit, but the tourist information are pretty helpful.  I think Trixie recently stayed at Sanders Yard, so may be able to give that a recommendation.

Hi Kitten!

MC is correct  ;D I went to Whitby and stayed in B&B in the town centre: The Shepherd's Purse, Sanders Yard

It's a fantastic place to stay & there are ground floor rooms for Grandma! I highly recommend it.

Parking is a bit tricky but you can book a 'season ticket' from the Tourist info in advance & you can drop off and collect baggage/people at the main door. They're really helpful with this!

Trixie X

Thanks guys, knew i could rely on you!

From the looks of it we may end up staying outside of Whitby due to parking etc.  We did visit last summer (ha!) and stayed in a lovely hotel in Goathland but too expensive for a whole week hence looking for a cottage this time!

Thanks all x
