Title: BRAMBLES

HI, just got my first plot.  covered in brambles is it possible to recycle them or is it best to burn them?

There are a few threads on this subject if you do a search. If you can shred them they are compostable; I use some of them to build compost bins; however, most people on the site seem to prefer burning.

hiya, billyhat, welcome to the site, as bupster says, we had a big discussion not so long ago..some say burn, some compost..have a look-see

I burn old woody growth, but the new sappy stuff composts perfectly easily.

hi billyhat when i got my allotment it was also covered in brambles so i cut them as low to the ground and burnt them it keeps you warm a nice bonfire ;D ;D

i struggled all day friday digging out the B8r$tool that grew in between my two gooseberry bushes !!! back breaking, then trying to tackle the little shooters that spread underground. on the plus side if you have pet bunny rabbits they love the leaves as a treat!!
