Title: Aloe Vera cuttings/babies wanted
Post by: king_richard on January 01, 2008, 15:34:34
Hi,

I need to produce around 70 aloe vera plants (they are to be used at a family wedding in May) and think it may be too late to try growing that many from seed, does anybody know of anywhere I can buy a bulk load of the plants. I'm happy to grow them on from baby plants.

Any help or guidance appreciated because I may be in trouble with the bride!

Thanks,

I'm intrigued to know what you are going to do with them- are they an alternative to sugared almonds? I've got two very neglected plants which I keep meaning to take babies from, but probably wouldn't get more than a handful of decent plants.

Ditto on the curios front......

I have a few spare, but I think I'd need a dangerous weapons licence to send them through the post.  I need full chainsaw protective gear to move the big one out of the shed after winter.

I presume you're after the smaller softer varieties?

I can help too!

I've got an posting due later this week on my blog (I need to take the photo first, probably later today), so you can have a look at that and see if they're what you're looking for. I'll try and remember to come back here and tell you when the post's done  ;)

Sounds like you need several donations to make the 70 required...

I'm based in Chippenham if that's any help, otherwise getting them thru the post will probably need some inventiveness  :)

I have seen these on a wedding table once.

There put in a black pot with the plant in the middle and white gravel.

Some pots where rectangles and had 3 plants in them.

very pretty.

Good idea - here's the promised posting:

Let me know if you're interested, though I suspect the offer of 70 in 1 go is more tempting! ;)
