How do I make an image show on this page in my posts? I have manged to put a link on this page to open on another page but unable to make it open here.
I have tried with the image [] at each end of the link, that didn't work, if I remove them you have to click the link that takes you to another page to view.
Where am I going wrong please.
Roy
Hi Roy,
Check out 'gif animations' (a few topics down on this forum) I think someone posted details on how to do it under there. Hope this helps. :)
Eileen.
Thanks Eileen, had a peek below about gif animations but couldn't find anything, I don't mean the pic below my name top left, I'll get round to that eventually, I mean like ones we put below this text for the world to see.
It works for me with a link so I spose twill do 4 now, thanks again.
Roy
Roy,
the (//) tags work for me -was it actually pointing to an image, or to a web page? The link between the tags should end in .jpg, .jpeg, .gif &c. and not .htm or .html &c.
Jeremy
Where are your photos stored Roy?. Many people on here keep their pics on Photobucket.com. You are allowed at present to link to them and it is very easy to do. Others store their pics here for a fee. Again the link to them is straight forward.
Hi Guys, My images are stored on a Blueyonder Webspace that has worked perfectly in the past, I am now just wondering if the reformat of my PC has anything to do with this as I am waiting for my son-in-law to add on a few progs and Cuteftp is one of them that I use to access that webspace.
This is the image that I put up on another post in A4A that made me query this…http://www.rrbg06748.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/mwashy1.jpg
Note if you click it you are moved to another page and this image is stored on that Blueyonder webspace.
My Son-in Law will be up here Friday maybe things will work out when everything is installed.
Thanx Roy
Bugger that link doesn't work now, if I had any hair I would be pulling it out, blessed computers. >:(

Is this it, Roy?
PS Yup - I see it! Nice photo, too.
Look at the top right of the alphabet bit of your keyboard, Roy. There are two keys with square brackets, [ & ].
In words - I put img (inside square brackets []) at the beginning of the image url, and /img (inside square brackets []) at the end of the image url.
Or trying to show it? Your typing should look like this - but do NOT type the hyphens!

There's quite a bit more on the following links

Looks and feels very finicky to begin with, but you get very used to it quite quickly?
Good luck - Gavin
Thanx for that Gavin, I store my image address on my pc so as to eliminate errors then all I have to do is just type in my image details i.e. mwashy1.jpg I'll leave this until Friday after son-in-law uploads all the original progs and then give it my best shot.
Thanks to all for input.
Roy
