This is a photo of a former allotment site in Kenmore Rd in Kenton. Due to the housing problem, most vacant areas are being transformed by housing developers. They recently put up this for sale sign a month a go and I immediately thought about those people quing /wating 10 years to take a plot.
There aren't many allotmenteers in my area, it's such a contrast to other locations.
Is it just a case of the allotment culture dying in some areas?

Doubt it probably more like obstructive councils with an eye to amking a quick buck..
:-X
Hi check with your council, by law they have to provide allotment space for the town, if u check this site may help.

Why do you think councils do sod all to force people to actually tend their plots?
So they can say that there is no need as they are all untended anyway!
Get a bunch of diggers together and demand a site be found - they are bound by law to provide them!
