Is anyone out there like me, among the gift buying for others I always buy something frivolous for me too.
This year I bought a minature soldering iron, a crucible for melting gold etc and a pair of tongues to pick it up, a melting mat and some bits and bobs for same.
I have been collecting bits and peces of old gold and silver for sometime so I can see a playtime coming up.
I haven't got a clue what I am doing..anyone know of a good book!!
So what did you buy for YOU?
XX Jeannine
I have got me a Black & Decker Jigsaw from Argos. Reserved for pick up tomorrow. Reduced rom £49 to £23.
dvd's of Das Boot, Spirit of the Beehive and £34 of seeds off the net (won't arrive til next year)
did anyone get Marks and Spencer's lemon and poppy biscuits with a jar of organic lemon curd - fabulous
I bought me what I really wanted in case no one else did (it never comes in wrong to have more than one....) some knee high socks that won't roll down in my wellies and bought OH a couple of books that I also would like to read! ;D He wants to read them himself first though!
About £1,000 worth of work done on the car. Essential really, and that included a service and MOT. Hopefully I won't see the garage for another year.
But before the massive car bill I ordered some more smellies from http://www.fragrancedirect.co.uk/home.php (http://www.fragrancedirect.co.uk/home.php). They are brilliant, excellent prices and deliver quickly.
I got Vanderbilt eau de toilette and body lotion for every day and Cabotine by Gres eau de toilette and body lotion for better use. For best I still have some Opium and Givenchy Ysatis.
Books, books and more books! Three I intended to get and (ahem!) nine that I couldn't resist as they were so cheap. All about gardening or plotting, including one called Creative Propagation, over 350 pages covering methods for all different types of plants from mosses to woody monocots (oo-er!), reduced from £17.99 to 4 quid.
Also lots of Lush goodies - any excuse.
The Ten Commandmants (1953) on DVD got the 20's silent one thrown in!!!
;D
underwear ;D
best chrissie present was a new pair of snazzy wellies ;D
Blade Runner - the complete DVD set (sad or what ;D)
An electric propagator to go in my new (best chrimbus prezzie ever) potting shed! ;D ;D ;D
A Sheen X300 flame gun. ;D
Maybe the lottie will be a little tidier this season! :)
Bit of a cheat....I bought my OH the complete set of 'Carry On' films on DVD for Crimbo, but as I love them too it's a bit like buying them for myself..... 8) ;D
The Blade Runner set sounds good to me too Barnowl! I saw the film when it was first released in a small theatre in Chinatown, when we came out it was dark and raining, just like still being in the film! I've never forgotten that!
After Christmas present for me. With the cash that John gave me I have to buy some new rope for my post and rope "fence" round my side grass area. Some toe rag(s) have gone along and cut 5 sections of rope. How I wish I could catch them.
Maybe chain link would be better?
Amazin. took me ages to get permission to put up rope and posts, agreed on posts no higher than 1ft. We are supposed to be open plan. At the time I was trying to stop people from allowing their dogs to recycle their food on my garden. I thought I would google for strong wire but don't know what it is called. At least it would take them longer to "cut" through wire. Another idea is big link chain but I need about 30 mtrs and it works out quite expensive. Gotta get my thinking cap on :)
Taking this away slightly from the original question... I plan to buy myself some of the things that I didn't get.... liners for inside my wellies to keep my feet warm... thermal knee legnth socks... a deerstalker type hat... wood for raised beds.... seeds and some other stuff that'll come to me as I'm browsing various seed and gardening websites! ;D
I got the dune, extended DVD (david lynch version) for myself :)
I bought some leopard print stiletos wore them in whilst wearing gardening kit on fellow lottie holder called at house very poilite he didnt mention I looked a bit like Lilly Savage on a bad day!! ;D
I always buy myself at least one Christmas present. This year there were three. A Bosch cordless screwdriver, A cream whipper and 'Nigella Express'. Most other things on my wish list were presents from Gordon. He is a love - he'd already bought me a 32 cell Root trainer set way back in October as a start and ended up giving me another 5 other pressies 8).
Tricia
I bought myself a bracelet and necklace (because I'm fussy ;D) and a travel book light.
I may have to buy perfume as F. Christmas forgot.
Well i am going to buy maw Broons Cook Book. £9.99. Told everyone I wanted it and didn't get one. They never listen. Also need a new pair of slippers £5 so not asking for much.
;D
I usually have to go out and re-buy some gifts for me, becuase my folks often ask for a list of what I would like, so I provide a short one. Unfortunately, they often see something which is similar but not quite what I suggested and at half the price think they've bought a bargain! Think sneerboer at tesco value prices!

I was given the same, just watched Carry on Abroad, ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
You can't beat 'em.
We bought ourselves a Wii - it's hilarious, we've got boxing, bowling, tennis, golf etc.
My Jon's so competitive though that he won't play me at boxing anymore as I beat him 11-3!!! :D
prink, daughter Alyson bought one for her children. Brilliant, children didn't get a look in on Christmas Eve when we had a family gathering, the adults took over :) As I was a great snooker player in my teens I am seriously thinking of going in to overdraft to buy myself one if only to play snooker ;D
Go for it Lorna, They are really good no matter your age, size, fitness or physical capabilities, ma-in-law (75) found the tennis nice and gentle exercise, and is seriously thinking of getting one as well!!
A bottle of Penderyn Welsh malt whisky. Expensive to buy but worth it for the taste.
Post Christmas - new roasting tins! Put them on the list but hubby didn't wan't to buy me "chained to the kitchen" type pressies ;D
i'm ging to buy a cob nut tree as i asked again and again but nobody gave me one!! i made sure everyone knew i wanted it too :(
best gift i recieved was a proper wicker basket- like little red riding hood :D
oops it's Rosie, posting on Mum's account.
ps toadspawn, try aldi's and lidls for the Penderyn, we found a bottle there (pps be careful, that's where my dear departed grandfather's ashes went)
I've treated myself to a polytunnel 12' by 25'
Gonna have fun this next year.
I been to HMV today and picked up 'grow your own' on DVD for £7 !!

In aldi's!? (sorry, just had to!)
Well I bought myself a DVD of 'The Victorian Kitchen Garden' - was buying it for a friend (who is over the moon with his copy) - I've wanted it myself for so long so ordered two!
am saving mine to watch when I feel a bit 'down in the dumps' just know it will cheer me - just adore the music that accompanies it....Emma Johnson playing Paul Reade's 'The Victorian Kitchen Garden Suite' - moves me to :'( but in a nice way :)
You'll like that HP, I watched it on UK Style Gardens earlier this year and it acutually offered some gardening advice; as opposed to all of the modern gardening shows which either concentrate on garden centre makeovers or on flowers only >:(
Enjoy!
I'm just about to order myself some fleece lined wellies from this weeks amatueur gardener (£24.99 in case anyone wants some!) and I'm also going to buy Amy Winehouse's CD. I've been putting off buying it because I don't want to help fund her addictions, but at the end of the day she's going to take them whether I pay for her CD or not so I may as well get it! ;D
Star Wars DVD's
To help me cope with my Tinnitus a new MP3 player, now all i need to do work out(my Walkman was child's play ::)) how ya work the bloody thing.
froglegs, Ray uses his for his tinnitus, swears by it so I hope you get it sorted, if he can, anyone can ;D
I didn't actually BUY my Christmas present to myself. I filled in an extraordinarily long order on a Marshall's seed form and sent it to my mother to pay for.
After 42 years of inappropriate presents (eg. one year it was a bottle of FAKE Chanel No. 5) I decided it was time to take charge of the situation ;D
;D @ Trixie
You watch ... next year, unless I get in there 1st, it will be a Ford Mondeo Estate ;D
ONLY KIDDING LORNA ;D XX

For years my SIL did this by making a long list of things she would like and woe betide anyone who deviated and bought something else!! and I always thought she was just being cheeky, but now I see the logic in it! I have more of those 'camping' cups that have a plastic lid and keep your tea warm for longer than I need cos everyone thought it would be a good idea! ???
we all do wish lists now, for birthdays and christmas, means we all get at least something we like ;D
Trixie. Re Mondeo, such a reliable little car and dog loves it BUT after your comments I am going to try and get my Street cred bacck. So this will be my second car (if I am ever allowed to drive it) Just gotta nick it off John's drive ;D
I bought a leather belt as me trowsis keep on falling down (pre-Christmas diet :))
Went to Ikea and bought Billy back to house my booklog - thanks mum! A miracle occured - Ikea had everything I needed and I didn't get into a bad temper for once. How did that happen ???
I didn't rearly get myself a christmas present this year (waiting in argos for my present doesn't rearly count) but I did take a chance and got one of the books from my Christmas list when I saw it in the charity shop for 50p - nobody got me any of the books on my list so I was OK. I am going to get myself a birthday present though, in fact I am going to get myself plenty of birthday presents as I am going to a monster craft show and intend to spoil myself rotten :-)

We keep our visits to just once a year as it's usually so awful. The time before last we didn't even buy anything ???, but came away with lots of wood from their 'help yourself' skip outside the pick up area :o
