Title: something has been digging in my pots
Post by: aquilegia on July 05, 2004, 10:02:08
I occassionally find pots have been attacked by something. holes a couple of inches deep and wide are dug.

Initially I thought it was squirrels trying to get to the bulbs, but now they've attacked my pieris, clematis and lettuce (which was covered in fleece that they ripped off) :'(

Any thoughts on what the culprit might be and how I can prevent it?

Mice maybe?  The mice make lovely wee tunnels in my compost heaps at home and at the lottie.  Did once have rats nesting in our home heap but Ava sorted out that problem  :o.

could be. The hole's about big enough for a mouse to fit into. We did have that couple of mice in the compost heap that were evicted. They must be around somewhere still.
