Has anyone got a good recipe that I could make ??
Also can I use anything instead of pudding basin - like a tupperware dish?

Hi

Its late to do it now but you might be able to get away with using muffin tin to make smaller puddings rather than a big one.

dav - if you do make them now then keep one for this time next year, will have matured very nicely especially if there is a bit of alcohol in it - my mother made hers months ago  :)

You can cook your puddings in almost anything . I like to do them on large coffee tins, the commercial size that has a  plastic lid that pops on for after it is opened.

They steam well with the lids on. You can remove the bottom of the tin after cooking and gently push it through, It is in a neat riol that slices perfectly. Tins are great for cooking bread in too.

If you want to store them freeze them right in the tin.

There is only one problem.  I do not have a steamer - is there an alternative way of cooking them.

You don't need a steamer. Use a pan big enough to take the tin  put water in to come up about half way or so,lid on and simmer it, don't let the water boil dry!!I arely use a steamer for puddings. XX Jeannine

PS. It,s not too late. I have several reciopes for puddings, id there anything you don't like.eg peel or almonds. I can post you a couple if you still need recipes.Let me know your hates and I will find one that will suit. Do you want alcohol in it.

I am not a fan of almonds - and perhaps as my wife is pregnant no alcohol.

Try swapping the almonds for cahew nuts and try using brandy flavouring which wil help with the taste :)
