I took my bean canes down today, it was only when i put them in the tool shed that i noticed a birds nest on top of one of the rolls of old carpet i keep for making paths. I must have been in and out of that shed hundreds of times in the Summer and did not see it, think i need stronger glasses. :-[ But in my defence it was well camouflaged ::),they had made it out of bits of carpet......well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!. :P
that's amazing, I don't ever remember seeing a nest made out of carpet before ;D
That has been a great nest for the blackie or the robin?? How would she get in and out of your shed though, is your door left open all day? ;) ;)
A proper 'fitted carpet' nest.....wonderful!
Oh my my, you do have posh birds in your area :o

The builder of the shed(donkey's years ago)put in ventilation holes. To small for a Blackbird

It's amazing how they lined the nest with fibres of the same colour as the twigs and moss. :o

That is quite beautiful to look at FL. Wonder if they hatched any young in there. Quite the des res of the bird kingdom.
Its quite amazing, us humans have to go to college to learn engineering and building.....but its so natural for our little feathered friends.
what a beautiful thing ! I'll be drilling holes for them too ;D
Keep ya eyes peeled the occupant's had been and gone before i discovered the nest. :-[
