Hi Guys,
I have managed to get a book for hubbie thats just come out for christmas 50% off in sale and its signed by author. It occured to me that there might be other 'extra value' gifts out there that would be appealing to others.
Waterstone books have a signing of Nigella Express by Nigla Lawson at Cribbs Causeway on Thursday 29th Nov 6.30. You can attend or call and ask them to get you one signed and post it to you.
THere is also a signing by Gordon Ramsay

Not had a look at any other book shops but i would think that most would have fairly simular setups.

Hey Cambourne I'm going to Bristol on Thursday and might just go to Cribbs to see if I can see Nigella!!! ;D
I'd advise getting there early Glosterwomble. The queue was so long at Waterstones in Leadenhall Market last week that she left before everyone had got their signed book. (I walked past the queue and bought Fish by HF-W which was going at half price. :)
I happen to be in Carlisle when Michael Palin was doing a signing for his book. The queue for this stretched at least 200M. I would have loved to have seen Michael, I do like him and his progs. but wasn't prepared to wait and wait.
So, for a book signing, go early or be prepared to wait.
:o :o
It was like that at Wyvale last year when Tommy Walsh was signing books....we did wait, and it was so worth it. He is bigger in life than tv, and is just a lovely man.
a couple of christmases ago my OH queued up at ug o'clock outside Ottakars to get Rolf Harris to sign his art book for my crimbo pressie. I met up with OH when the doors opened so that I could meet RH and was totally star-struck and couldn't speak to him :-[ I wanted to ask him to draw a rolfaroo but I was too shy ::)
top pressie though ;D
ah, norfolk lass thats so sweet :)
glosterwomble good luck tomorrow, i will not be there but i would call them in the morning and try and reserve a sighed book anyway. If you can get one signed yourself you can then sell the other signed one :) But if she goes before you get to her you still get a book :)
