Title: spacing between apple trees
Post by: debjay on November 20, 2007, 15:56:18
Hi
I have just been given three 1 year old apple trees, ;D  (2 eating 1 cooking)
How far apart should they be planted  ???
Thanks

If they are of the bush variety I would put them about 2 metres, But if they are going to grow into big trees make sure there is enough room to be able to hang a hammock when they are grown.

:) I grow 5 different varieties as cordons, had lots of apples this year off 1 and 2 year old plants, but you have to remember to prune them at the correct time of year...........I'm not so good at that ::)/ shades x
